Lean Leaders Lead by Example

As a Lean Leader, do you lead by example?

Today I thought of this as a made my coffee. ☕

I use a refillable k-cup. I made my coffee ☕ and then was about to walk out of the break area with my cup of warm hugs.

I took two steps and then thought about my refillable k-cup in the Keurig. The next person coming to make coffee would have to take that out and then set it aside or clean it up.

I thought about the next person as my internal customer and turned around and took my k-cup out and cleaned it up, leaving the Keurig ready for the next coffee drinker.

It's all about:

🎯 respect for people

🎯 practicing 5S

🎯 having standard work

🎯 building in value from your customer's perspective

Doing all of this in every process we do. And being an example. We should always remember that people are watching us so we must practice what we teach.
